One last note I would like to make clear. If you wish to participate in the one year oil change program you must use the following motor oil and oil filter:

• For diesel engines use the following: Series 3000 5W-30 or 15W-40 synthetic heavy duty diesel and marine oil. As of right now the latter is Amsoil's best oil. (Remember both oils qualify for the one year oil change and longer if you use the oil analysis program)

• Gasoline engines use the following: Series 2000 0W-30, 0W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30  synthetic motor oil. They can go beyond one year with an oil analysis program. All of these oils qualify, the Series 2000 is just their highest rated. (I personally use the 0W-30 in my 2001 Toyota 4runner with the dual by-pass oil filter system and the 1998 Nissan Sentra uses the 10w-30 XL six month oil since Amsoil does not make an Ea Oil filter for this vehicle). The latter three oils give you the best price/performance ratio.

• Both types of engines must be used with Amsoil's new line of EaO nanofiber technology oil filters.

• Certain cars may need to go with the Series 2000 20W-50  premium protection oil and European cars may use the 5W-40  European synthetic motor oil. Please visit their respective links for the recommended oil change intervals.

Diesel engines have come a long way and three American car companies have done a great job with this.
